HAVANA, Cuba, August 8 (ACN) Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Vice President of the Republic, called to continue working in the municipalities to promote territorial development for the benefit of the population during his tour of Havana.
Cuban vice president arrived in the municipality of Old Havana and exchanged with the staff of the Copmar Food Trading Company, part of the Fishing Industry Business Group.
During his stay in the city, the executives explained that last Monday, a ship carrying chicken destined for the standardized family basket for the western and central regions arrived in the Havana port.
Valdes Mesa later analyzed the work of the Pan Rico Local Development Project (PDL), located in Regla, where he learned about the establishment's offerings and the population's acceptance of the products.
Upon his arrival in Guanabacoa, he checked the production system of the Tobacco Rolled Warehouses of the Habanos Corporation S.A. and the Arca Tobacco Packaging Company, a sector that constitutes an important component of the national economy.
On another occasion, the Political Bureau member visited the PDL 29 and F in Plaza de la Revolucion, which includes a bakery and other food services. The establishment's top representatives explained that they are seeking strategies to minimize production and guarantee the quality of their products.
In La Lisa, Valdes Mesa inquired about the management of another PDL called Las Delicias, which produces hamburgers, sausages, and pork and beef croquettes.
As the final stop on the tour, in Marianao, he assesed the work of the "La Victoria" Basic Cooperative Production Unit, which has a pig farm and vegetable crops.
Valdes Mesa spoke with the cooperative members about the importance of strengthening the agricultural sector for the benefit of the people.
Cuban VP was accompanied by Livan Izquierdo Alonso, a member of the PCC Central Committee and first secretary of the Provincial Party Committee in Havana, and Yanet Hernandez Perez, governor of the capital, among other officials.
