HAVANA, Cuba, May 6 (ACN) When international conflicts are greater, and in its eagerness to take advantage of them imperialism spreads doubts and confusion, Cuba puts in the hands of governments, political leaders and social movements, academics, researchers and nations a book on the current International Economic Order and the urgency of transforming it.
It is the text Un obstáculo para el desarrollo("An obstacle to development"). The main challenge for the Group of 77 and China, prologue and recently presented in Havana by Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country.
Before the participants at the 2nd Congress for the 50th anniversary of the New International Economic Order, which was held in Havana on April 29 and 30, the head of state clarified that the book is not the history of that integrationist entity that led the country in 2023.
He added that it does not address in depth a diagnosis of all the problems that have led to the current multidimensional global crisis, nor can it cover the broad agenda for debate of the aforementioned bloc.
But he assured that it does constitute a characterization of the current international economic and financial order, which he described as unfair, exclusive, inoperative and offensive.
The result of the collaboration of several Cuban institutions, according to Abelardo Moreno, a long-standing diplomat and expert in multilateral issues, it is an essential and enlightening work that also gathers Cuba's experience during a fruitful year at the head of the coordination mechanism.
He stressed that his intention is to share the experiences accumulated by Cuba during decades of struggle for development, enriched with the Presidency of the Group of 77 and China; and to ratify our conviction of the eminently neocolonial character of the policies of the developed capitalist countries, which deprive the great majorities of the planet of a dignified life.
Other objectives are to reflect the negative evolution of the world economy during the last decades and to offer some ideas that, in Cuba's opinion, would help the G-77 and China to fulfill their purposes.
Structured in nine chapters and printed in three languages: Spanish, French and English, under the guidance of the Cuban President, experts from the Foreign Ministry and different institutions participated in its drafting.
