HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 29 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez described as an example for the Cuban business system the Industrial Military Enterprise Brigadier General Francisco Cruz Bouzarc, belonging to the Union of Military Industry (UIM) and located in the western province of Mayabeque.
The visit to this socialist enterprise is an important learning experience, we all have a lot to learn from you, he said to the chiefs and workers of the entity, which employs some 1,300 people, including military and civilians.
The President - accompanied by the member of the Political Bureau and Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez Miera, and Brigadier General Israel Cervantes Tablada, General Director of the UIM - learned about the performance of the company that in the midst of a very complex year for the country closes with efficiency in all its indicators.
Its development projects include armaments for the defense of the nation, as well as important productions for the energy, poultry, livestock and agricultural mechanization sectors.
Of special sensitivity are the agricultural and livestock works within the Industrial Military Enterprise Brigadier General Francisco Cruz Bouzarc, where rice, beans, vegetables, viands, and also buffaloes, rams, pigs, chickens and fish are raised.
All of this is for self-consumption in the entity and for sale to its workers. These actions have allowed the stabilization of the workforce and motivation among its personnel.
For these reasons, the Cuban President wrote in the visitors' book: "We appreciate the work culture, discipline, innovation and technology that you have developed, turning the Army General's indication into reality. This group of workers and its management demonstrate on a daily basis that it is possible".
The Cuban leader's tour on Thursday also included a visit to the Livestock Module of the Loma de Tierra Military Unit, where he toured several stables where buffaloes, rams, pigs, chickens and ducks are raised. They also produce food, vegetables and fruits.
As reported, the Armed Forces have 365 livestock modules throughout the country, located on more than 7,000 hectares of land, which are managed by the three Armies (Western, Central and Eastern).
In these entities, about 17,000 animals are raised and more than 3,500 tons of food have been produced this year for the Armed Forces and the population in general.
