HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) A Cuban delegation is participating in the meeting of the Council of Experts of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) taking place in Panama, the Cuban Ministry of Energy and Mines reported in Twitter.
At the event, mechanisms are being evaluated so that member countries have equal access to the energy transition, the message said.
Likewise, the Cuban representatives defend that such mechanisms be effective to access financing that the blockade prevents.
"Cuba participates in the meeting of the OLADE Council of Experts #Panama Mechanisms are being evaluated to ensure that member countries have equal access to the energy transition. In our case we defend that they should be effective in accessing financing that is otherwise prevented by the blockade".
The VII Energy Week, which takes place from December 12 to 16 in Panama, brings together authorities and leaders of the energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean to share their views on the most relevant issues of the sector's new agenda.
Participants will discuss issues such as energy security, renewable energies, energy transitions, opportunities for the region in the current context of international crisis and the development of new industries such as green hydrogen.
OLADE, based in Ecuador, is a cooperation, coordination and technical advisory body whose main objective is to promote the integration, conservation, rational use, commercialization and defense of the region's energy resources.
