HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 29 (ACN) The 20th Scientific Convention on Engineering and Architecture (20 CCIA) will be an opportunity to create academic networks and propose new projects for a sustainable future, said Modesto Ricardo Gomez Crespo, rector of the Jose Antonio Echeverria Technological University of Havana (CUJAE).
During the opening ceremony of the event, to be held until December 2 at the Havana Convention Center, he stressed that they intend to increase collaboration and exchange of experiences among universities, research institutes and management forms related to scientific-technical progress.
This edition, made up of 11 main events, will feature 110 foreign speakers from 15 countries and around 400 national participants.
Among the nations with the largest representation are Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, Belgium and Mexico, a scientific-cultural spectrum that guarantees the success of the 20th CCIA, the rector affirmed.
During the opening ceremony, Ines Maria Chapman Waugh, deputy prime minister of the country, gave a lecture on the contribution of the science, technology and innovation macro-program to the government system implemented by the country.
Parallel to the convention, an exhibition fair was held, which, according to Gomez Crespo, demonstrates the relationship between the university and the production and services sector as a contribution to the management of government based on science and innovation.
