Havana, Dec 24 (ACN) Cuba’s Workers Confederation (CTC) and Colombia’s Unions of Agri-food workers, the June 14 Sugar Industry and the Industries of Beer, Malta and Liqueurs, signed in Havana a joint working accord.
CTC executive Maria del Carmen Rodriguez and Juliana Millan from Colombia’s Union Program and Supportive Economy Organization (ATI) penned the accord establishing mutual support between the two sides and against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba, according to Trabajadores newpaper.
The joint accord is a reflection platform that will allow the exchange of expertise and knowledge between different organizations and countries which will join the initiative. Also on the agenda is the promotion of Cuban reality to stress the island’s innovative capacity and solidarity despite the scenario imposed by the US hostile policy which prevents the Cuban people from accessing to basic services and goods, said Millan.
The accord opens doors to a program of international exchange using virtual platforms which have become necessary and popular following COVID-19 restrictions. Some issues to deal with include agriculture, agro-ecology, food distribution and commercialization, organization, cooperatives and supportive economy, among others.
