HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 20 (acn) Emilio Lozada, Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Cuba´s Foreign Affairs Ministry, started a working visit to China on Monday, according to Prensa Latina news agency.
Cuba and China have repeatedly expressed their willingness to develop bilateral relations, which include parliamentary, inter-chancellor, commercial, financial, military, scientific, cultural, among others areas.
The two nations maintain a fluid exchange of reciprocal visits by high-level authorities, and coincidences on issues of bilateral and international interest, while expanding their areas of cooperation.
China is Cuba's first economic partner in Asia, and the second globally. High quality Chinese electronic and mechanical products are present in houses on the Caribbean island, while there is a growing demand for goods such as sugar, rum, tobacco and seafood from Cuba in that Asian nation.
Lozada's visit to China takes place in the context of his tour to Asia, during which he attended last August 16 the 50th Pacific Islands Forum, in Tuvalu, where he ratified the commitment of the Caribbean island to deepen ties with the Pacific region.
