HAVANA, Cuba, May 21 (acn) Evo Morales, president of the Pluri-national State of Bolivia, returned home today after completing a busy work schedule on the island, which included receiving the Jose Marti Order, the highest award granted by the Cuban Council of State.
It was a successful visit that further strengthened the bonds of friendship existing between the two nations, in addition to Latin American unity, Mercedes Lopez, member of the Politburo of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and Vice-president of the Council of State told ACN, while seeing off the Bolivian President at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana.
She stressed that, overcome by emotion, the President of Bolivia toured on Friday the Jose Marti Memorial, where he knew more aspects about the life of the Apostle and highlighted his role in Latin American unity.
On the signing of agreements between the two countries, the official stressed that they give continuity to the process of cooperation and justice for the peoples and that strengthen the commitments and objectives outlined by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
Morales arrived in Cuba early on Friday and held official talks yesterday with Army General Raul Castro, President of the Cuban Councils of State and Ministers.
The main objective of his visit was to review the current state of bilateral relations and expand cooperation.
