President Raul Castro will travel to the U.S. to give a speech at the UN General Assembly on September 28, Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez announced on Wednesday.
The Cuban head of state will also participate at the September 25th Assembly session, which will be attended by Pope Francis, said the minister during a press conference where he presented the Cuban annual report on the impact by the US economic blockade on Cuban society.
Raul Castro will also hold bilateral encounters with authorities from different countries and he will with US personalities and members of the Cuban emigration in the U.S.
Responding to a reporter's question if Barack Obama and Raul Castro would meet at the UN, Bruno Rodriguez said there is not any planned meeting, but they both will be attending several activities at the same time.
