HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 9 (acn) Cuba's ambassador to Japan, Marcos Rodriguez, and Deputy Shinako Tsuchiya, president of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the lower house of Japan's parliament met on Monday in the Diet, headquarters of the supreme body of the political power of that Asian nation.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed various aspects of relations between the two countries and agreed that mutual ties and favorable prospects for their development are in a good moment, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
They spoke about the positive results of the historic recent visit to Havana of Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, who traveled to the Caribbean island accompanied by a large delegation of business persons from the Asian territory.
Shinako expressed her desire to visit Cuba and added that this is an aspiration shared by many members of the committee she leads.
According to Marcos Rodriguez, the meeting gave continuity to the fruitful relations of friendship existing between the island and important parliamentary leaders of Japan.
