COYAH, Guinea Conakry, (acn) Louceny Fall, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and of Guineans Abroad of the Republic of Guinea, expressed on March 30 the gratitude of his government to be Cuban people for its help: "We know it's a great sacrifice to come here to face that epidemic. The peoples of the three countries hit by the deadly virus will always remember that attitude. We're very satisfied with Cuba's cooperation."
In the presence of journalists, Fall highlighted that Cuba's response is not a surprise, since the solidarity and friendship existing between the two countries is historic.
In another moment of his conversation with journalists, in which Cuban ambassador to Guinea Maite Rivero, participated, Minister Fall condemned the economic blockade of Cuba and expressed his hope that the way being paved with the reestablishment of relations will lead to its elimination. "We have always considered that the embargo (blockade) is unfair and that it has to be lifted (...)".
"There's no country in the world that has helped Africa as much as Cuba. Cuba helped African national liberation movements; Guinea can't leave Cuba when it's in difficulties. A natural solidarity has been established between Africa and Cuba. As long as it lasts, we will continue insisting in the elimination of that policy. President Obama has said that when something doesn't work it needs to be changed; Cuba has resisted in a heroic way. We hope that the reestablishment of diplomatic relations with the United States is immediately followed by the lifting of the embargo (blockade)".
