Havana, Feb 27 (ACN) Palestine’s resistance movement Hamas is considering a proposal for a truce in Gaza Strip which stemmed from international negotiations in Paris, including a 40-day ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners.
The truce period would allow the repair of hospitals and bakeries in the Gaza Strip, while some 500 humanitarian aid trucks would enter the territory daily with tents for the displaced people, according to Telesur TV.
The proposal suggests that Hamas should free 40 Israeli hostages, while Israel would free some 400 kidnapped Palestinians.
Hamas Politburo leader Ismail Haniyeh wound up a visit to Cairo last Friday after three days of negotiations with the chief of the Egyptian intelligence Abas Kamel and with US advisor for the Middle East Brett McGurk to reach a truce in Gaza.
Later, a meeting was held in Paris, France, involving the chief of the US Intelligence Services William Joseph Buns, his counterparts David Barnea, from Israel and Abbas Kamel from Egypt. Also in the meeting was Qatar’s Premier and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
The number of Palestinians murdered by Israel in Gaza increased to 29. 782 since October 7, while over 70 thousand people have been wounded, according to the latest reports by Gaza’s Health Ministry.
