HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 10 (acn) After nine games, Cuban Alfredo Despaigne blasted his first homer in the Japanese professional baseball league (NPB), but he could not avoid the 1-4 loss of his team, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
The Cuban slugger has not had a good start this season and today he batted 1 for 4, and now his batting average is only of .121.
Last season he was the NBP leader in home runs (35) and RBIs (103).
