Cuban Leuris Pupo Competes on Thursday at World Shooting Cup

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 6 (acn) Cuban Leuris Pupo will compete today in the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Finals, staged in Bologna, Italy, a tournament attended by 99 contestants from 34 countries.

Pupo, London 2012 Olympic champion and fifth in Rio de Janeiro 2016, will be one of the favorites to win medals in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol, event that will be attended by another 11 participants.
Among the most serious aspirants to the awards podium we find German Christian Reitz, Rio 2016 monarch, and Frenchman Jean Quiquampoix and Chinese Yuehong Li, silver and bronze medalists on Brazilian soil, respectively.
The list of participants also includes well-known names such as Chinese Fusheng Zhang and Jian Zhang, Spanish Jorge Llames, German Oliver Geis, Italian Riccardo Mazzetti, Japanese Teruyoshi Akiyama, Russian Alexei Klimov and American Keith Sanderson.
This competition in Bologna brings together the best shooters of the World Cup series staged in Bangkok, Thailand; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Munich, Germany; and Baku, Azerbaijan, in addition to the medalists in the last Olympic Games and the winners of the 2015 World Cups.
