HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 12 (ACN) Cuba beat Puerto Rico 3-2 and finished fifth place in the 6th Women’s U21 Pan American Cup in La Paz, Baja California, Mexico.
The top scorer of the match was the Cuban Whitney James with 26 points, followed by Puerto Rico's Valeria Flores (21) and Grace Mar Lopez (20) and also-Cubans Claudia Tarin (15), Lisania Grafort (14) and Yalain de la Peña (13).

Cuba led Pool A with nine points, two wins and no losses after beating Puerto Rico (3-1) and Dominican Republic (3-0), but then lost 0-3 to Chile in the quarterfinals.
The Mexican competition gives two places for the world championships of 2023.
