HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 10 (acn) In the presence of over 60 Angolan entrepreneurs, the president of the Cuban Food Industry's Business Group, Iris Quiñones, presented 13 projects of business opportunities in this sector and in fisheries for foreign investment on the island.
During the working visit paid to Angola by Cuban Food Industry Minister María del Carmen Concepción, Quiñones presented in Luanda the portfolio of foreign investment opportunities, the essence of Law 118 and the sectorial policy associated with the sphere and with fisheries, Press Latina reported.
She explained that the eyes of employers was directed especially to the area of services for the food industry, for both the repair and construction of ships, like industrial and refrigeration equipment, although there was also interest in the processing soy and in aquaculture.
During her presentation, she said that, with foreign investment, Cuba hopes to generate productive chains, develop infrastructures, assimilate technology transfer, replace imports and increase exports, and contribute to the Caribbean nation's economic development.
About the tour, Concepcion asserted that the memorandum of understanding signed in October on the occasion of the visit to Cuba of the Angolan Minister of Fisheries, Victoria de Barros Neto, was implemented.
Concepcion stressed that the exchanges with de Barros Neto "allowed us to know more about the public policies implemented in Angola in fishing production and protection of species, the content of which has points of coincidence with our policy."
