Eastern Cuba hosts conference Expociencia 2022

HOLGUÍN, Cuba, Apr 26 (ACN) The city of Holguin will open its doors until Friday 29 to the 13th edition of Expociencia, a conference based on scientific debates about the socialization of the main local results in technology and innovation and intended to showcase the achievements of the business and private sectors in these fields.

Expociencia 2022 is dedicated to the centenary of architect Luis Felipe Rodríguez Columbié, who until his decease in 2012 contributed with remarkable projects to the development of this eastern region.

Yordanka Maite Hernández, provincial sub-delegate of Science, told ACN that this year education and research centers, enterprises and new economic actors will present papers mainly focused on food production, agro-ecology, the use of renewable energy sources, and the digitalization of government systems. Other topics for discussion include nanotechnology, tackling climate change, demographic studies, the network of scientific associations, and services to vulnerable communities.

Expociencia 2022, which also features a collateral program of presentations by vocational study groups, contests, keynote lectures, and the sale and exhibition of goods and services, will facilitate linkages between enterprises and promote good practices of hazardous waste management, consumables production and environmental protection.
