Havana, Feb 10 (ACN) The Cuban Economy Ministry approve 162 new micro, small and medium companies and cooperatives, taking the number of the new economic entities to 1 974 since the approval process kicked off September 2021.
On its Telegram account, the ministry explained that out of the new 162 entities, 141 are private companies, 19 state-own and two are cooperatives.
In general terms, out of the total 1 thousand 974 MSMEs, only 47 are state-run and 27 are cooperatives, the rest is made up of private companies. Some 57 precent of all the enterprises belong to upgraded self-employments and 43 percent are new businesses.
The approved companies are expected to create 31 thousand 838 new jobs for the local economy.
