HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 24 (ACN) The production of 80,000 cradles for home trade this year is one of the main projects of the Dujo Company, which belongs to the Cuban furniture industry.
This was announced during the presentation of the company's plan and budget for 2022, in which it was also informed that in the previous year the production of this furniture reached 50,000 units.
According to Granma newspaper, Dujo's commercial director, Antonio Garcia Gonzalez, said that furniture sales are expected to exceed 74 million pesos in the domestic market.
He said that the largest investments will be in tourism, since this sector will represent 57 % of income, with 326 million pesos in turnover.
According to the Ministry of Industry, there are 20 projects in different phases of execution in the six main tourist centers, with contracted orders for almost 6,000 rooms by 2022.
One of the strengths of the furniture industry is its current material and financial insurance coverage, equivalent to a year and a half of work, with inventories of around 200 million pesos and another 300 million in financing.
