Havana, March 22 (ACN) Cuban state-run Information Technology companies have begun to assist imports and exports by the private sector in the field, in tune with the country’s economic and social strategy approved by the Cuban government last year.
The business director with the Cuban I.T. Conglomerate, Carmen Fernandez told reporters in Havana that they have so far authorized three companies to do foreign trade for the private entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Gisela Cantero who is the commercial director of the Solintel company, with the conglomerate, announced the signing of a first foreign trade deal with a local programmer and said that others have expressed interest in the initiative. She said that I.T. programming is one of the over 2 thousand private modalities approved for self-employment in Cuba.
