Cuba registers perceptible earthquake in eastern region of the country

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 24 (ACN) The network of stations of the Cuban National Seismological Service registered today, at 8:29 a.m. local time, the first perceptible earthquake of the current year.

The earthquake was located at coordinates 19.77 degrees north latitude and 75.99 degrees west longitude, at a 4.1 km depth, located 31.0 km southwest of the city of Santiago de Cuba.

With a 3.4 magnitude on the Richter scale, reports of perceptibility have been received in the municipalities of Santiago de Cuba and Palma, Santiago de Cuba province.
No damage has been reported so far.
