Havana, Jun 27 (ACN) Representatives of Cuba and the indigenous Kalinago community, on the Caribbean island of Dominica, considered initiatives to expand cooperation in healthcare, education and sustainable development.
The issue was addressed by Cuban ambassador Miguel Fraga during a visit to Kalinago territory, where he met with local authorities of that ethnic group, considered one of the last Caribbean indigenous populations.
The meeting focused on possible cooperation projects to the benefit of the Kalinago community, including education exchanges and healthcare assistance programs.

Ambassador Fraga was received by community chief Lorenzo Sanford and by the minister of the environment Cozier Frederick.
This visit follows up on a previous meeting on June 11 between Fraga and Sanford in which both sides talked about scholarships for Kalinago people to study in Cuba.
