HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 24 (ACN) Cuba and France will hold today a session of political consultations between their foreign ministries to take stock of their bilateral relations and economic and cooperation ties.
According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the meeting, which will take place at the headquarters of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (Quai d'Orsay), will also address relevant issues of the multilateral and regional agenda.
Gerardo Peñalver, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, will head the island's delegation, whereas François Delattre, Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will preside over the French side.
Mr. Peñalver, who arrived in Paris on Wednesday on a working visit, met with the French President's diplomatic advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean, Walid Fouque.
In mid-December, the two governments signed six cooperation instruments at the end of the 6th bilateral Economic and Commercial Commission, which dealt with aspects related to agriculture, hydraulic resources and health.
France is one of Cuba's top 10 trading partners and was, before the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the main issuers of tourists to the island.
