Americans in solidarity will keep supporting Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 5 (ACN) Solidarity organizations and activists in the United States will keep supporting Cuba as the White House intensifies its criminal policies on the island, said Ike Nahem, founder of the International Conference for the Normalization of U.S.-Cuba Relations.

A new in-person and virtual edition of this event will be held on March 15 and 16 in New York, "at a very important moment because now more than ever we need to unite all groups in a single front in defense of Cuba," he remarked, “to demand the end of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade and the removal of Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism”.

Nahem stressed that the participants will also discuss issues such as material aid, travel, trade union support, reproductive justice, and the environment, among others.

Representatives of the Federation of Cuban Women, the Union of Jurists, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), and the Cuban Trade Unions will participate in the conference, organized with the cooperation of other Cuba solidarity networks in the U.S. and Canada and the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network of Solidarity with Cuba and Just Causes.

In a visit to ICAP, the founder and leader of the New York-New Jersey Cuba Si Coalition reiterated that the U.S. Cuba solidarity movement will not let up in its efforts to fight the increasing aggressiveness of the new U.S. administration.

"This increased hostility will awaken consciences and win over more people in support of the Cuban cause," said Nahem, who has taken part in demonstrations in New York and car caravans in support of the Cuban people.
