Havana, Nov 4 (ACN) Iran’s Minister of Communication and Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi is on a working visit to Cuba aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation.
The Iranian government official held talks Sunday with Cuban deputy Prime Minister Eduardo Matinez, according to the Ministry of Communications.
Delegations from the two countries’ communications ministries held a bilateral meeting on issues of mutual interest in the field of postal services and I.T technology.
The visitors were accompanied by Iranian ambassador to Havana Mohammad Hadi Sobhani.
At the end of the meeting, a framework cooperation accord was signed by Iran’s deputy Communication and Technology minister Mohammad Ahmadi and by Cuban deputy Communications minister Ana Julia Marine.
The agreement will allow strengthening relations between the postal services of both nations.
The Iranian delegation also visited Havana’s Science and Technology Park, in the campus of the I.T. University.
Sattar Hashemi said that bilateral links between the technology and science parks of Havana and Iran will be crucial to boost the development of AI and educational robotics.
The visitors also toured the Mariel Special Development Zone in western Cuba and attended the opening ceremony of Havana’s International Trade Fair, which dedicated November 4 to Iran’s Day at the event.
