HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 31 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked China for its firm opposition to the U.S. blockade, as evidenced by a message issued by Hua Xin, Beiging's ambassador to the island.
Following the debate at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the need to end Washington's hostile Cuba policy, the Chinese diplomat ratified that Cuba is not alone.
"China and the vast majority of the international community are beside Cuba," she wrote after 187 countries voted in favor of the resolution laying down the right of the Cuban people to live without a blockade. "It is disappointing and outrageous that the United States votes against the resolution, refuses to lift the sanctions against Cuba, and insists on keeping Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism."
Likewise, Mr. Xin remarked that the siege has caused Cuba extremely serious economic damages and humanitarian disasters and that China urges the United States to end the said policies pursuant to the purpose and principles of the United Nations Charter and the basic norms of international law.
"Cuba and China are good friends, good comrades and good brothers," he wrote, “and praises Havana's efforts in favor of a fair and rational international order, global solidarity and cooperation”.
The diplomat also spoke on behalf of his country to express his solidarity with the current situation facing the island and reassert his support to the Government and people of Cuba.
