Havana, Aug 28 (ACN) Bahamian authorities returned 16 Cubans residents in the central province of Villa Clara (nine men, four women and three minors) who had made an illegal departure on sea toward the US, according to the Cuban Interior Ministry.lc
The irregulars were brought to Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport. One of the returned persons was submitted to investigation for presumed crime, the Ministry’s release explains.
Some 1 thousand 46 irregular Cuban migrants have been returned to the island this year from different countries of The Americas.
Cuban authorities have reiterated their firm commitment to a regular, safe and orderly migration and alerts about the danger for life posed by illegal departures involving minors.lc
