Cuba reiterates support for Venezuela and president Nicolas Maduro

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 23 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, reiterated his support for Nicolas Maduro, president of Venezuela, after the investigation of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) in that South American country was completed.

On X, the Cuban head of state condemned the meddling and questioning of the results of the last presidential elections held on July 28.

When will the meddlers and doubters apologize to the re-elected President and his brave and noble people? expressed Diaz-Canel.

Maduro's victory was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Justice, a sign of transparency and legitimacy throughout the electoral process, said Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.

The Electoral Chamber of the Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice issued a ruling on Thursday in Caracas on the investigation of the contentious appeal filed by President Nicolás Maduro, regarding the presidential elections of June 28.

It assured that the results bulletins of the National Electoral Council (CNE) are congruent with the reports of the electoral machines and the results totalization centers.

It also pointed out that there was an exhaustive and deep analysis of the physical/digital materials on the elections, carried out according to the highest national and international standards.

Electoral Chamber of the Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice urged the CNE to publish the results in the Electoral Gazette, according to article 155 of the Organic Law of Electoral Processes.

It stated that it is urgently sending a copy of the sentence to the Attorney General of the Republic to determine responsibilities for alleged crimes of impersonation of functions, computer crimes, association to commit crimes and incitement to provoke disorder, among others.
