Havana, March 20 (ACN) Cuban Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ricardo Cabrisas was welcomed to the Russian State Duma (lower chamber of Parliament) by its president Viacheslav Volodin and other parliamentarians and political leaders.
The meeting considered the most recent advancement of bilateral economic, commercial, financial and cooperation links between Cuba and Russia.
Volodin addressed the setting up of a commission for cooperation between the Russian Duma and the Cuban Parliament, which held its first meeting last year in Havana. This commission will follow up on accords reached during the recent 21st Intergovernmental Commission.
Cabrisas and Volodin referred to their countries’ stance against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba and the unilateral sanctions imposed by Washington on Russia.
Cabrisas was accompanied by Julio Garmendia, Cuban ambassador to Moscow and by Carlos Luis Jorge, deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
