Cuba recalls Hugo Chavez's legacy 11 years after his death

On the same social network, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the National Assembly of People's Power, stated that Chavez's legacy endures in the brotherhood between the Cuban and Venezuelan people, in the Bolivarian and integrationist ideal in the Great Homeland and in the just causes of mankind.

Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Prime Minister, paid tribute to the undisputed leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, and showed his closeness to Venezuelans on this anniversary of the death of the eternal Comandante.

We evoke the man whom Fidel rightly described as "Cuba's best friend", on the anniversary of his death," said Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Venezuela.

According to local media, Venezuelans will commemorate the anniversary with different political and cultural activities and mobilizations.

Chavez Frias (1954-2013) was president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela from 1999 until his death, in 1999 he called for a Constituent Assembly to draft a new Constitution, which was approved on December 15 of that year by the Venezuelan people in a referendum with a majority vote.

Under the leadership of Hugo Chavez Frias, a democratic, participatory, multiethnic and multicultural society was established in Venezuela, framed in a decentralized State with federal justice that ensures the right to life, work, culture, education, social justice and equality.
