Leila Benali, its president, said at the opening ceremony that "the world needs more environmental multilateralism in the face of wars or electoral processes that distract governments from devoting more resources to solving the ecological crises that threaten the planet".

For her part, Inger Andersen, executive director of the UN Environment Program (UNEP), warned that it is essential to unite the whole world in supporting measures in favor of the environment, since "no one on this planet is immune to the effects of the triple planetary crisis".

The assembly focuses on the search for solutions based on nature and highly dangerous pesticides, land degradation, drought and environmental, mineral and metal issues.
Member States and stakeholders are analyzing how to promote the Decade of Action, especially in the reciprocal connections related to such problems.
