HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 27 (ACN) Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) kicked off today a working visit to the Republic of Angola.
As reported by the Parliament from on X, during his stay from February 27 to 28 in the African nation, Lazo Hernandez, who is also President of the Council of State, will hold official talks with several authorities of the country.
On Monday, he developed a busy work agenda during a visit to the Republic of South Africa, where he held talks with Kgalema Motlanthe, former South African president; Solly Mapaila, secretary general of the South African Communist Party, and Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini Zuma, Minister of the Presidency for Women's Affairs, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.
Also in South Africa, the President of Parliament spoke with the staff of the Cuban state mission there on various aspects of the current national situation, his diplomatic work and the projections for this stage.
Last weekend, the parliamentary leader paid his respects in Namibia, on behalf of Cuba, during the State Funeral of Dr. Hage G. Geingob, third President of that country.
Previously, Lazo Hernandez visited Kenya as High-Level Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Cuba, to gather information to clarify the situation of Cuban doctors Assel Herrera Correa and Landy Rodriguez Hernandez, who were presumed dead last February 15 during a bombing in Somalia, where they had been held kidnapped since 2019.
