Cuba and Venezuela will hold solidarity meeting

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 25 (ACN) The 13th National Meeting of Venezuela-Cuba Solidarity will begin with a keynote lecture on the U.S policy of blockade and unilateral sanctions and coercive measures as a form of imperialist aggression against the peoples.

Scheduled to be held on March 1 and 2 in the Venezuelan city of Maracay, the meeting will be attended by the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and Hero of the Republic, Fernando González, and by Aragua governor Karina Carpio.

The program also features the lectures "Bolivar and Marti, Fidel and Chavez, precursors of anti-imperialism in the struggles for Latin American and Caribbean emancipation and independence”, “The role of youth in the context of mutual solidarity among our peoples", and “Communication as an imperial weapon of aggression against the independence and sovereignty of the peoples of Venezuela and Cuba”.

The 13th Meeting, which will include discussions about history, youth and communication, a visit to a former house of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, and a final declaration, is deemed to be of great importance to strengthen solidarity between the Cuban and Venezuelan peoples.

National solidarity coordinator María E. Quintero underlined that the Movement is an expression of Venezuela's commitment to, love for and solidarity with the “our Cuban brother and sisters” and “turned into a beautiful reality Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro’s dreams of participation and fraternity”.
