HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 11 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the World Summit of Governments, to be held in Dubai on February 12 to 14.
According to a text posted on the Cuban Presidency’s website, Marrero Cruz’s visit seeks to strengthen political and economic relations with the UAE through significant agreements to promote investment and mutual cooperation, supported by the rich history of friendship and solidarity between the two countries, fostered by Fidel Castro, Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyane.
Since they established diplomatic relations on March 18, 2002, Cuba and the UAE have increased their economic and commercial ties and exchanged high-level delegations, including an official visit by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez to the Asian nation in 2023 to participate in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) which paved the way for mutual cooperation in areas such as tourism, agriculture, biotechnology and renewable energy.
