Havana, Jan 29 (ACN) The Europe for Cuba Channel solidarity platform reiterated its rejection of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of the island nation and drew up actions to face the US policy, during its second international forum in solidarity with Cuba.
Few days ahead of the date when US President JFK signed the blockade into effect on February 7, 1962, the solidarity platform described the US policy as criminal siege which started since the very triumph of the Cuban revolution on January 1, 1959, the Cuban Foreign Ministry reported on its webpage.
Some one hundred activists from twenty nations attended the Bilbao Forum and called for the unity of action on the part of the European Movement in Solidarity with Cuba; they agreed to strengthen communication channels to denounce the US policy and its impact.
The scheduled a meeting with representatives of media outlets in April and the start of transmissions on the Channel in Arabic Language, along the ongoing broadcasts in Spanish and Russian.
They also announced the third international Europe for Cuba meeting which will follow up on this one held in Bilbao and a previous one hosted by Seville in 2023.
The Bilbao meeting condemned the inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral US list of states sponsors of terrorism and backed other nations which are targets for aggression, such as Venezuela and Palestine.
