Havana, Jan 26 (ACN) Without urging a ceasefire against Gaza, the European Union asked for the full, immediate and effective enforcement of the order issued by the International Justice Court demanding Tel Aviv to adopt all possible measures to prevent genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The UN court orders are binding, reads a joint communique of the European Commission and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell, who also urged the implementation of the order.
The case was raised by South Africa in December 2023 pursuing actions by the International Justice Court aimed at stopping the armed escalation against the Palestinian region.
