HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 21 (ACN) The Cuba Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced its national program for 2024—which marks the 50th anniversary of its presence in the island—based on the negotiation of priorities with its counterparts and their respective plans.
Among other UNFPA’s goals is to provide training on the new platform that describes the program and its budgeting before it is put into practice on February 16.
Established in 1967 at the initiative of the UN General Assembly, UNFPA promotes the right of all women, men, teenagers and children to enjoy a healthy life and equal opportunities without distinction of gender, age or ethnicity.
Along with the anniversary of its Cuba Office, UNFPA will also celebrate the three decades of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, held in 1994 in Cairo, Egypt.
