Havana, Jan 18 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reiterated his country’s thankfulness to his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf for the trust and support of Cuba as temporary chair of the Group of 77 plus China during 2023.
On his X account, Rodriguez wrote that he met with Attaf during the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, held in Kampala, Uganda.
The Cuban government official also met with Yvan Gyl, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister, whom he congratulated for the excellent way in which his country has led the activities of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter.
On Thursday, the Cuban foreign Minister participated at the 5th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter and he also accompanied Cuban Vice-president Salvador Valdes Mesa during a courtesy meeting with Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni. Uganda will take the rotatory chair of the Group of 77 plus China in 2024.
