Havana, Jan 18 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced on Thursday the actions by the United States of America and its allies from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) aimed at imposing their domination in violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.
In remarks at the 5th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter, held in Kampala, Uganda, the Cuban minister addressed the actions aimed at fueling conflicts, promoting and financing regime-change strategies.
They impose and strengthen unilateral coercive measures and resort to the selective use and manipulation of human rights with political aims, Rodriguez noted.
Bruno’s remarks, published on the official website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, stressed the significance of coordinating actions within the Non-Aligned Movement, particularly those related to intergovernmental processes linked to the proposal by the UN Secretary General known as “Our Common Agenda,” as well as the process related to the Summit of the Future.
Rodriguez again denounced the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people under the veto of the United States at the Security Council and backed by NATO.
He also supported South Africa’s sue against Israel at the International Justice Court in relation to the violation of obligations of the occupant power as party state in the Convention for the Prevention and the Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
Finally, the Cuban Foreign Minister reiterated his delegation’s support of the declaration to be submitted by the ministerial meeting and the permanent contribution in relation to the important role of the Group of Friends of the United Nations Charter.
