Cuba and Rwanda to strengthen party ties

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) The political will to strengthen ties between the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) was ratified today during the official visit of a delegation from the island to the African country.

Salvador Valdes Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the PCC and vice president of Cuba, and Consolee Uwimana, vice president of the RPF, insisted on working for that purpose, during an exchange that took place in Kigali.

Regarding the meeting, the Cuban top leader highlighted in a message on X that both political formations are united by factors that show the constant commitment with the sustainable development of both nations.

As part of a tour through African countries that began last November 13, early Monday morning the Cuban delegation arrived in Rwanda, the last stop, after official visits to Ghana, Guinea Bissau and Ethiopia.

On that first day, Valdes Mesa was received at the Urugwiro Villa by Rwandan President Paul Kagame to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Cuban vice president expressed his satisfaction for the boost given to the economic-commercial relations between both countries and ratified Cuban interest in reaching a higher moment in them.

The Caribbean island delegation also met with Édouard Ngirente, Prime Minister of Rwanda, and with Kalinda Francois Xavier, President of the Senate.
