Cuba Calls to Halt Israeli Escalation on Palestine

Havana, June 19 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla reiterated on Thursday his country’s support of the Palestinian people and he went on denounce the Israeli escalation of violence against Gaza.

In a statement on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the minister said that the Cuban has called on both sides to reach an urgent ceasefire and a fast and peaceful solution of the war conflict through negotiations.

The conflict, which started on October 7 with a surprise attack by the Hamas Palestinian group on Israel, has thus far claimed thousands of civilian lives in the Gaza strips and its surroundings.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict originated in 1948 with the start of the Israeli occupation and the disregard of the United Nations accords which established the setting up of two states on the territory in conflict.
