HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 21 (ACN) ScD Yailé Caballero Mota, a professor and researcher with the Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC), reported that the said entity will be designated today as member of the International Association of Academies of Sciences, based in Minsk, Belarus.
Dr. Caballero Mota remarked that the Cuban delegation to Minsk—made up of ScD Isneri Talavera Bustamante and ScD Carlos Rodríguez Castellanos, both ACC VPs—held recent meetings with Belarusian institutes, universities and research centers and visited the institutes of Chemistry of New Materials and Microbiology and Bioorganic Chemistry to discuss possibilities to develop joint cooperation agreements.
Scientific personalities from 16 countries, including Russia, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Argentina, are also participating in these events.
The ACC is also affiliated, among other international organizations, with the Caribbean Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the People's Republic of China; and has cooperation agreements with the Academy of Sciences of Hungary and the Royal Societies of Edinburgh and of London.
