HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (ACN) Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Cuban deputy prime minister, began a working visit to Algeria with the aim of strengthening the friendship and cooperation relations between the two nations, the ministry of foreign affairs reported today.
The foreign ministry said on its website that the Cuban official arrived in Algiers, capital of the African country, on Monday, where he was received by the deputy director of Central America and the Caribbean of the Algerian foreign ministry and by Armando Vergara, Cuban ambassador to Algeria.
Cabrisas Ruiz will carry out a work program that includes meetings with Algerian government authorities, in addition to the fact that his stay will allow him to work on the implementation of the agreements reached during the recent visit of president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez to Algiers, last November.
Cuba and Algeria celebrated in October this year the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and maintain collaboration in the sectors of health, energy, construction, education, culture and sports, among others.
