Díaz-Canel concludes visit to Grenada and Caribbean tour

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 8 (ACN) “We have concluded an intense and emotional tour of the Caribbean,” Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said in Grenada, the last stop of his tour around the region, where he could witness the validity of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s legacy, as well as the special bonds that he established with the Caribbean brothers and sisters, continued by Army General Raúl Castro.

In his last day in Grenada, the Cuban leader laid a wreath at the Memorial dedicated to the 24 Cubans who fell alongside the Grenadians in combat during the U.S. invasion of that nation and recalled Maurice Bishop (1944-1983), leader of the heroic revolution that marked the destiny of Grenada.

Díaz-Canel met with Cuban cooperation personnel, the staff of the diplomatic mission, and friends of Cuba in Grenada, many of whom graduated from Cuban schools.

The Cuban President, at the head of a high-level delegation, began on December 3 a Caribbean tour that included St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados and Grenada.
