Cuban foreign minister celebrates Caricom-Cuba Day

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 8 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla hailed today the Day of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) with Cuba, established by the decision of Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago to start diplomatic relations with the island 50 years ago.

“Together on the path toward a united Caribbean, we will keep consolidating our brotherhood and solidarity,” he wrote on Twitter.

The celebrations take place in the context of the Caribbean tour undertaken by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, which included visits to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados and Grenada.

Díaz-Canel described the 8th Caricom-Cuba Summit, dedicated to the half century of the said bilateral relations, as a reunion of Caribbean brothers and sisters to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship, respect, mutual support, solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of their peoples.
