HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 7 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez met with the Cuban medical staff and sports trainers working in Barbados, as well as with members of the solidarity movement and Cubans who live in that country.
Attending the meeting were also Díaz-Canel’s wife Lis Cuesta Peraza and the Cuban ministers Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla (Foreign Affairs), Rodrigo Malmierca (Foreign Trade and Investment), José Angel Portal Miranda (Public Health) and Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya (Science, Technology and the Environment) among other members of the Cuban delegation.
Díaz-Canel congratulated the health personnel on the quality of their work, which has its roots in the Henry Reeve Medical Contingent that arrived in 2020 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The president described his current tour around several Caribbean countries, intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation, as a great learning experience and a major achievement in terms of the new agreements and projects of mutual benefit resulting from the 8th CARICOM-Cuba Summit.
