HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 5 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban communist party and president of the country, concluded today his official visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The foreign ministry reported on Twitter that the president was farewelled at the headquarters of the Vincentian parliament after the special session in his honor that took place Monday.
In his speech, Cuban head of state recalled the person of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and his ideals of solidarity with the Caribbean nations, while insisting that one way to face challenges in an effective and satisfactory manner is the unity and integration of the people.
During Monday, Diaz-Canel also met with the governor general of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Susan Dougan, to whom he expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Cuban leader reaffirmed the willingness to continue strengthening solidarity and cooperation.
The next stop for the Cuban delegation will be Barbados, where Diaz-Canel will participate at the 8th Caribbean Community ( CARICOM)-Cuba Summit, to be held on Tuesday.
