HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 5 (ACN) The historic friendly relations between the peoples of Cuba and St. Vincent and the Grenadines were ratified today at the Special Session of the Vincentian parliament in honor of Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Cuban communist party's central committee and president of the country.
As reported by the foreign ministry on Twitter, Diaz-Canel thanked the people and the government of this sister nation for the expressions of solidarity and the resources shared with his country in difficult times.
In the meeting Ralph Gonsalves, Vincentian PM, unequivocally rejected and condemned the continuous effort of the United States to meddle in the internal affairs of Cuba.
The dignitary denounced the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US governments and the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
Cuba and St. Vincent and the Grenadines continue working together to advance regional integration and defend the United Nations Charter, Gonsalves said.
He specified that both countries work closely in organizations such as the Non-Aligned Movement, the Latin American and Caribbean Group and the Group of 77.
The Cuban president and the high-level delegation accompanying him began their official visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines on December 3, the first stop of a Caribbean tour that includes Barbados and Grenada.
