HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 5 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel visited the modern Medical and Diagnostic Center in Georgetown, as part of his stay in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

In a Twiter the Presidency of Cuba refers that the president "visits #NOW the Modern Medical and Diagnostic Center, in Georgetown, fruit of an idea of Fidel, materialized in July 2018".

Because of the quality of the equipment and its professionals, it is a pillar of the Health System of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, adds the source when reflecting on the visit to the institution, in Georgetown, a town located on the island of St. Vincent.

Díaz-Canel expressed, during a meeting this Saturday, with members of the Cuban state mission in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the medical brigade and Cubans residing there that since their arrival in that country they have been receiving much affection from that people.

After congratulating the medical brigade for the celebration this December 3 of the Latin American Medicine Day, the Head of State was interested in the attitude of the Cuban health personnel during the explosion of the La Soufrière volcano, on April 9 last year.

Thanks to preventive and biosecurity measures, he explained, it was possible to preserve the lives and work of these specialists, who immediately joined the emergency services and, among other gestures of humanity and altruism, took in and cared for the affected children, especially those who were without family protection.
