Cuba and Costa Rica discuss international cooperation



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 1 (ACN) A delegation from the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA) is paying a technical visit to Costa Rica to discuss climate change with representatives of international cooperation projects and NGOs.

The Cuban specialists met with staff members of the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, who presented their experiences regarding the communication and socialization of the process in small businesses, local committees and foreign investment entities.

CITMA invited their Costa Rican colleagues to the International Convention on the Environment, to be held in Havana in July 2023, and talked with them about potential joint projects in coordination with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) related to sustainable buildings, solid waste management and circular economy.

They also met with Raquel Gómez, coordinator of the Green Climate Fund-United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Costa Rica project and Adrián Martínez, director of Ruta del Clima, an NGO engaged in social research on climate change in local vulnerable communities, as well as with journalist Katiana Murillo, from LatinClima, Climate Change Communication Network for Latin America.
